Chinese Zodiac: Sign of the Dragon

Chinese Zodiac: The DragonIf you were born in the years 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, or 2000 you were born in the Chinese Year of the Dragon and that Sign rules your personality and attractions. Dragon people are dramatic, fiery, and always have an entourage of excited followers. They are incredibly charismatic and tend to be proud and opinionated. They live on a grand scale and have high ideals that they apply ruthlessly to themselves and others. Dragon people do not lose arguments. They will intimidate whoever disagrees with them until the dissenter backs down or just gives up and goes away.

Dragons make extremely loyal friends but the flip side of that is that if you get on their wrong side, they will take the grudge to the death and never let up on you. Dragons are passionate in love but are always the aggressors, the ones breaking hearts, not vice versa. Dragons need to be believed in to do their best. They can be fantastic motivators but tend to jump into situations a bit rashly at times. To keep the attention of a dragon you must truly believe in him or her devoutly, and you will be rewarded with their affection, but if you are easily hurt, better to pass on the relationship. They cannot hold their feelings in, whether positive or negative, and they cannot keep a secret. If they lose their fan club, they wither.

Dragons are most compatible with Rats, Snakes, Monkeys, and Roosters.

Chinese Zodiac: Sign of the Rat

In America, rats are looked upon as vermin and are feared and detested, but the truth about rats as animals is that they are extremely intelligent, industrious, fast, and clever. Rats can squeeze through spaces smaller than a thumb width, and hidden video cameras have even caught rats opening bird cages to get at the seed. Rats survive and thrive when other creatures struggle.

In China, the rat is admired and revered for its obvious cunning, alertness, wit, flexibility, and energy. The sign of the rat starts off the Chinese zodiac, and in fact, the Chinese do in even eat rat in some parts of the country to mark that year. If you were born in the years 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, or 2008, you were born under the sign of the rat, which gives you rat-like qualities such as keen intelligence, an ability to create and attract great wealth, easy influence with people, and the ability to work hard with great quickness of thought. You strike others as more shy than you really are, and you create success for yourself and others naturally.

Rats get along with almost everyone, but are especially compatible with the dragon, the monkey, and the ox. They are least at home with sheep, horses, rabbits, or roosters. If you are a rat you would make a great businessperson or entrepreneur.

Don’t Fit Your Sun Sign? Check Your Moon Sign!

Why is it that some people do not seem to fit their sun sign personalities? Your sun sign determines your individuality and your uniqueness as others see you. Your moon sign, however, determines how you see yourself, your inner life, and the personality that comes from inside you. If your sun is in Aries and your moon is also in Aries, you will probably have a lot of dead-on Aries personality traits. If your sun is in Aries and your moon is in Pisces, not so much.

The moon travels through the astrological houses just like the sun does, so your moon can be in any of the twelve zodiac signs depending on the date and year of your birth. For example, I was born on March 22, 1953, so my sun sign is Aries, but my moon sign is Cancer. This means that, while I do have some of the ambition and headstrong qualities of the Ram. My personality tends to be more quiet, intuitive, and emotional. The Cancer moon tones down the Aries brashness considerably.

The moon travels through the heavens much more quickly in any given year than the sun, so two people with the same Sun Sign can have completely different moon signs and completely different personalities. To find your own moon sign and what it means, you can go to http://www.findyourfate.com/astrology/moon-astrology/moonsigns.html and plug in your birth date and birth year. This will take you to a chart. Click on the hot link for the day you were born and you will be given a description of the effect of the moon on your personality.

I found my moon sign description to be right on target. Try it and see if it doesn’t explain why you are a bit off your sun sign too!
